MAP testing finishes this week!

After two weeks, MAP testing finishes this week. Today is the last day except for a few make-up tests for students who were absent. The last day of school is now May 25. It's coming soon. Next week I will be enrolling fifth graders and seventh graders. The sixth graders received information on enrollment on April 13 and 14, so hopefully they have returned their forms. Be prepared, May will go by FAST.

Lock-In is April 15

The Middle School Lock-In will be Friday, April 15. The Lock-In starts right after school at 3:00 p.m. and ends at 11:30 p.m. Students will have an option to go bowling or to the movie or stay at the Gym from 3:30/4:00 to 6:00/6:30. Then everyone will be back at school for grilled hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and cookies. The DJ will show up around 8:00 to play music until 11:30. There will be games and tournament and just free play at the High School Gym all night. Students will not be able to attend if the are on the F-list, have over 5 discipline referrals for the year, are absent that day, or haven't paid the $10 Tech Fee. I'm looking forward to it.

Third Quarter Ends March 11

Our third week with no "snow days." The quarter is now flying by and ends on March 11 right before Spring Break (March 14-18). Grades will be sent home with your child the Friday after Break, March 25. MAP testing is rapidly approaching, 28 more school days. MAP testing begins on Tuesday, April 19. Penny War will begin March 21 and run for two weeks. It's to collect money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Pennies for Patients Program.

Upcoming Calendar Events

Looks like we will have our second five-day week of school in a row for the first time this semester! There will be no days off, except for Spring Break (March 14 - 18) between now and the end of school. Yes, we will be in school on Good Friday. We still have a couple of 12:40 student dismissal, one being March 11. Hopefully we won't miss any days due to flooding. Enjoy the warmer weather.

Mid-terms & Valentine Dance

Mid-terms will be sent home with your child on Tuesday, February 15. I extended it because of all the snow days. The Valentine Dance has been rescheduled to Friday, February 18, from 6:30 to 9:00.

Students Council is busy this week

Student Council members are taking orders for carnations to be delivered on Valentine's Day. Cost is $1 and we only deliver to Middle School students. The Valentine Dance is Thursday, February 10, from 7:00 to 9:30, weather permitting. If there is no school or an early dismissal on Thursday there will be no dance and we will try to reschedule it. Spring pictures are February 18. They take the pictures and you get to see them and if you like them you pay for them and if you don't return them to the MS office.

Mid-terms & Valentine Dance

The Valentine Dance is Thursday, yes Thursday, February 10, from 7:00 to 9:30 in the Elementary Cafeteria. It's on Thursday because Friday is a 12:40 dismissal and some parents might be planning to go out of town and wouldn't want to wait until 9:30 when the dance is over. The dance costs $2.00 and students should look nice. Mid-terms will be since home with your child on Friday, February 11. I also mail home grade cards of students who have D's and F's.
